Turret Arch
On the day we visited the Windows District in Arches National Park during our recent Moab workshop we were faced with a cloudy sky. Without the strong lighting and color it was time to experiment with composition. In this image of Turret Arch, the detail in the flat sky was enhanced with HDR while the dead wood in the foreground increases interest and strengthens the composition.

Lichen covered glacial boulders dot a meadow south of Mammoth Lakes, California at sunset.

It was a wet, stormy late October morning along the Logan River in northern Utah. The fall leaves were nearly gone but the rainy conditions really brought out some saturated, vibrant colors! I love shooting in the rain!

The Grand Teton (13,770 ft.) sure looks different from the west than from the more traditional east side view (see inside). It is a wonderful peak no matter how you look at it. In this evening view from a point north of Driggs, Idaho Table Mountain (11,106 ft.) is seen in from and to the left.

This is another view of Delicate Arch and it's environs taken during our Moab Workshop in November. We had a little time before sunset to try different compositions of this much photographed place.
