Chuo-ku Manhole Cover

Newer Older

Osaka Castle and sakura ( the official tree of Osaka) petals decorate one of my favorite Japanese manhole covers. This is the Chuo-ku variation. Chuo-ku is one of Osaka's 24 wards.

Shinsabashi-suji. Shinsaibashi, Osaka.

Love the pinks, and the pattern is nicely differentiated, but I wish the blue and green were just a LITTLE further apart in tone... neither is bad, but they fade against each other.

They could have done well to make the castle white and green to make it stand out more... But it's still one of my all-time favs.
