Arashiyama: Sakura & Togetsu-kyo

    Newer Older

A beautiful, spring day with Aki in Arashiyama... Great memories.

The Togetsu-kyo, or Moon-Crossing Bridge, is a famous bridge in the scenic Arashiyama area of Western Kyoto. In the spring, one can see a beautiful array of sakura along the banks of the Katsura River on the left, or above the bridge in the mountains along the Hozu-gawa. The bridge and banks of the river become very crowded this time of year as it is a popular place for hanami festivities.
