The confidence the parents give us early remains with us all through the years, even as we learn better about the world surrounding us.
It all begun with my first standup. I was with no fear, dare devil. Alas, around six, I learned suddenly I was not pretty, lots of freckles, brown hair and hazel eyes, and plus could not sing. My confidence plummeted.
"But you are intelligent" told me my mother. Alas, wonderful mother, but she also told me my jokes were not funny. "A lady does not..."
Till almost ten, I was a kid unaware of the dangers of the war around me. My parents kept me far for all, as long as they could. Then, one day... That story is told in "when I was ten the war fought up with me" - see my blog CompetentCommunicator.
