President Obama officially kicked off
his re-election campaign on Saturday,
May 5, 2012 with rallies in Columbus,
Ohio and Richmond, Virginia.
The pictures are from the late afternoon rally at Virginia Commonwealth University's Stuart C. Siegel Center in front of an enthusiastic crowd of around 8,000 supporters.
The president was introduced by VCU Rams basketball head coach Shaka Smart, former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, First Lady Michelle Obama and other dignitaries.
The theme of the day was "Fired Up, Ready to Go!" President Obama fired up the crowd and everyone left ready to work hard and get out in their communities to make sure their friends and family members are registered to vote and re-elect President Obama on November 6th!
