Damn, what floor are we on?

Damn, what floor are we on? by Josh Sommers.
Testing the new alpha code with the droste effect. Looks like I finally got it to work. Yay! And much thanks to Breic for his great contributions.

Maybe, but I think it is more along the lines of creative use of an existing technique and a willingness to experiment with many different approaches.

Pat- I didn't have to smooth this one out because I am using a new version of the droste code that allows me to use antialiased edges, or varying levels of transparency, and it blends those from layer to layer. I do intend to replace the eternal scream image, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Those aliased teeth still bug the hell out of me!

An ex girlfriend introduced me to the works of MC Escher in around 1991. THe walls of my home are adorned with some large framed prints. I am simply stunned by your sucessful efforts to recreate the techniques and styles used by the genius himself.

May you have a long and prosperous life ;-)

I'm laughing out loud again! This is so funny and fantastic and mesmerizing! If I hadn't known that it was an effect, I would be bound in studying it for a very long time!

Gawd. I'm having literal vertigo looking at it full-size!

Hello,

We will love to have this image in "D'après, after... releituras, homage, homenagem" (or re-readings) group.

This group was created to show works of whatever kind (drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, collage, needlework etc.) that make reference to, evokes or elaborates on the work of any other artist and explicitly identifies her/him. Or homage that link works, yours and theirs.

If you wish to participate, just follow the link and click "enter this group". It will be my pleasure.
If you know people that make works is this style - homages and/or re-readings -, please, invite them, forwarding this message.
