Two or Three?

Two or Three? by Josh Sommers.
I remember being fascinated by this shape when I was young. I think that perhaps the first place I saw it was in the icon that was used for photoshop filters back in the day. I started relearning the first modeling program that I ever used today (formerly "Ray Dream Designer", currently Carrara), and so I thought I would give this impossible object a try. Oh, and also this image was lit with an HDRI environment map.

Good job! But what if you try to reduce the perspective, like if you took the photo from far? Then the two spaces between the three cilinders would be the same size as them. You know what i mean?

Uriolus- Usually for these images I set the camera focal length to somewhere between 200mm and 600mm. However I can't recall what focal length I used for this image because my main purpose was just getting to know Carrara.

You are amazing. This series of visual incongruities has intrigued me since I was a kid. I can't believe that you can make them look so realistic.
