The White Bull of Heaven

The White Bull of Heaven by Joseph Wu Origami.
Back to the original bull design, I've been playing with some poses like this bucking pose. Folded from my brand new supply of high white elephant hide, the gold horns are colour changed from the underside which was coloured with gold ink. Now all I have to do is to fold Gilgamesh wrestling the bull into submission.

Very cool, I love the pose. That high white elephant hide looks great, nice and bright.

Yes, it is quite bright. It's not pure white, though, having a faint bit of the tracery that marks all non-black elephant hide.

oddly enough the black EH has it too- when you bleach the paper heavily you can see the traces of it. I was surprised to see it,.

That's interesting to note. I was actually surprised that I never saw it before. I had assumed that the pattern was part of the manufacturing process, generated when they pressed the paper flat. I've seen similar patterns formed that way in other machine-made papers. I guess I've never bleached the paper far enough to notice the pattern.

love the stance that the bull has and the clean folding also the fact, that the hufs are split on the back legs now as well. suppose the initial sheet was larger. but is there no way of placing the ears beneath the horns rather than on top of them?

Oh, they can be moved. I just didn't pay enough attention to where they should go. I'll check some photos and adjust them.
