Book Collection #01 | Asimov | 2008Robot Stories, An examination of Asimov's "Three Laws Of Robotics" Asimov's Foundation Stories. "The mathematics of psychohistory" Brilliant! I've had this book since I was nineteen-ish, but only after at least three reads and four years, did I realize that it is A Love Story. I should've read the blurb. It says so in plain text right on the back... My first Asimov book. I bought it in Bondi at a bookstore (which was open late - I thought that was cool). I kinda recall that I was separated from my friends for a bit - left them at cafe (or was it a bar?) and they eventually found me (sobering?) in the shop with this novel in hand. "Pebble In The Sky" (1950) Asimov's first novel. This is where it starts. This is a first edition 2008 reprint? in hard cover. I wonder if all the novels will be reprinted in hard cover. I'll need to research that. "I, Robot" (1950) "The Caves Of Steel" (1954) "The Naked Sun" (1957) "Robots and Empire" (1985) "The Robots Of Dawn" (1983) "Prelude To Foundation" (1988) "Pebble In The Sky" (1950) "The Stars, Like Dust" (1951) "Forward The Foundation" (1993) "Foundation" (1951) "Foundation & Empire" (1952) "Second Foundation" (1953) "Foundation's Edge" (1982) "Foundation & Earth" (1986) "The Foundation Trilogy" "David Starr, Space Ranger" (1952) -Not part of the Robots/Empire/Foundation saga. I still need to find/get: "The Currents of Space" (1952) Too Many Notes? View it in Space "The Rest Of The Robots" (1964)

My Book Collection #01: Isaac Asimov (2nd January 1920 - 6th April 1992) Whenever I am restless, sleepless or just need to unwind, I will quite often pick up a familar book, flick open to a random page and just read. Asimov's works, pictured here, were written/published between the late 1940's to the mid 1990's. They fall into three series: Robots, Galactic Empire and Foundation. Initially the three series seem separate and to their own, but over time they were quite brilliantly tied together as Asimov 'filled the gaps' in his universe spanning twenty thousand or so 'future' years. So here are a handfull of his books. Written over fifty years and read by me over ten. I've explored through them in the order I bought them, then in the order they were published and then in the order of the stories took place. Nowadays I just pick any old book from this shelf (I don't even look at the title) and read a chapter or two. It's quite relaxing. If you're going to start reading Asimov, I would strongly recommend reading it in the order of publication, so that you can enjoy the surprises Asimov intended. -- Photograph Copyright © 2008-present Joriel Jimenez Designs and titles copyright The Asimov Estate and respective publishing companies. Another great addition to your 365 project. It's a wonderful snapshot of you, and I'd be gaining some great insight into the world that is Joz... if only I hadn't known you so well for the past decade.
Not only have you become an accomplished photographer but you're mastering the ability to convey narrative through imagery.
Well done Joz, well done.
