.... to Friday's girl - three times last week I trawled through the trunk looking for this geezer - intending to post the two together - I never get round to tagging in Lightroom, just like I rarely put video clips in bins (bin as in film bin not trash) I just view in cover flow - which as far as I'm concerned is one of the good things about Macs - anyway cover flow - or rather my eyes - failed me until yesterday evening - so here he is, maybe she looks cross because he's late - well that's my story ;-)

.......through the junk trunk for a serious face for editing, she was an easy choice ;-) so here's the cyan movie look - or grainy BW - take your pick - they're both created the same way, a fill layer in overlay mode slapped on top of the shot, the BW noise is added to the fill, that way it shows up more in the mid tones like grain does in film

though on the subject of noise putting a fill layer on top in overlay mode removes quite a lot of it - about one stop improvement in ISO noise performance - though it doesn't help with old digi cameras which exhibit noise banding at higher ISO settings, my old 350D was absolutely awful for that
