alpe d'huez

we got to see the alpe d'huez stage of the tour de france 2008. we headed for about half way down the mountain below the barriers where the crowd get incredibly close to the cyclists.

sastre won by enough of a margin to ensure he went on to win the tour so it proved to be a decisive day.
