Is this Whoville?

I wonder because it sure seemed like the Grinch stole Christmas in Bellingham. While up there, I thought it would be neat to visit the downtown area and capture some night shots of the Christmas lights.

To my surprise, I found minimal decorations which, along with the cold air, gave the town an unwelcoming feel. There were a few snowflakes gracing the lightposts along the main streets, but not even the town's historic city hall building was decorated. I checked all along the main avenues, no Christmas tree.

Someone in Whoville, I mean Bellingham, definitely had a grinchy attitude towards Christmas this year.

Christmas in Sedro-Woolley

We spent the holiday with my wife's family up near Sedro-Woolley. For those who say, "where?", the town is located about half way between Seattle and Vancouver, BC. It is an old logging town that holds on to that heritage to this day. In the center of town, at the intersection of Metcalf and Woodworth Streets, the town's Christmas tree is visible from blocks away.
