Not bad! It does basically what it's supposed to do.
I could measure the resistance values and just use regular resistors to make it smaller. It tells me when my radio power supply (battery pack) is 12V or above, 11-12V, or below 11V with three colors in the LED.
Thanks for the idea, Steve!

how hard would it be to calibrate it to significantly lower voltages, ie 1.5?

Well, Binary BigBoy--that is a simple question that I cannot answer. I am assuming it could be done easily with different resistor values, no? My way of doing this is to measure the resultant resistances of the variables V1/V2 and replace them with 1% tolerance resistors for a smaller device that will fit in a short cable to my rig and weigh very little. Let me ask the QRP-L guys.

Nice that you made it on Hack a Day, but what's up with them dissing your construction style? I don't care what they say, it's beautiful!

Functional - Operative - WHO CARES about the style in which it was assembled.

I give it two thumbs up ;)

yes. functional and operative, but appearance and proper building techniques will weigh into durability and possible marketability.
basically everyone has their reasons.

Can someone design a voltage meter for a 144V pack that shows full at 150V and empty at 126V with maybe 10 leds for empty to full? I have a 97 S-10 I converted to electric (NO GAS FOR 4 MONTHS NOW!) and I use a cheesy voltmeter to determine my range left. www.evalbum.com/1629
Thanks
