Library Parking Garage

I found a picture of this the other day while searching for photos from Kansas City and I knew I had to go photograph it myself. This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I live here and I've never heard of it before—it makes me wonder what other secrets my hometown might be hiding.

San Diego: thanks for the heads up. I was wondering why all of a sudden 3,000 people had looked at this picture!

Giorgia: no problem. Thanks for linking back to my page.

It's at a public library, and it features The Lord of the Rings (implied elves), so this photo qualifies forMonkey Elf Pirate Pizza Public Library! Please add it.

Someone had an imagination. Too bad they planted trees along the side of the building on the sidewalk. Really cool garage though.

The KC Main Library is in a converted bank building. The film and video materials are stored in the basement -- literally the film vault. They left the original vault with giant round door at least a foot thick and use it as a film screening room. If you ever come to KC, I'd be glad to give you a tour.
