Phoenix take 2

Phoenix take 2 by J0nB0n.
My design. Folded from a 17" square of tissue foil. This time I used yellow paper, and although the beginning square had no wrinkles, I couldn't keep the finished model the same. Nevertheless, I think it tops my first try.

Thanks-I really want to find some good, non-foil paper to fold this with-I don't think foil suits it well.

I usually have the same problem, and I don't have a really better paper ...this usually cause problems like very thick appendages, doesn't it? : )
Nicer result though.

That's awesome!
Good photograph too. The colors are striking.
Could it be done with double tissue?

Thanks everyone!
@Gaston-the appendages with tissue foil can get thick, yes. The legs could be thinner with better paper, for example (but I have other problems to solve first :P). This can be solved by only putting tissue on one side, but this model shows both sides of the paper.

@Arthur-It could probably done much better than I did with double tissue. I actually changed the colors a bit on my computer to make it look better-it is actually a paler yellow.

Very nice phoenix.
Its not the structure where have all became accustomed after seeing kamiya's, but its a very nice new interpretation of this bird.
Good job!

Thanks-I actually had that in mind while designing it. It was hard to break away from the preconceived image of Kamiya's interpretation of a phoenix. I wanted one with a more flowing tail and wings (mostly the tail), and I like what I finally came up with.
