a total noob question, but to get the that shutter speed you need to use an external shoe lens flash right? so with my rebel xti i could get 1/1000 shutter speed using the 430ex?

Thanks a lot.. your tutorials are great btw

Well CrazyJ0e...

I actually took this photo with my Sony DSC-H2, this was in the days before I had my Rebel...

But yes you are right in saying that with the XTi, you have to have an external flash for the pop up flash is a) too weak, and b) won't sync past 1/200 of a second...

..I used my 430EX the other day (on rebel XT) on High speed sync,,, used f/29 and 1/4000 shutter speed.... and the photo was still overexposed, and that was with the Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC) on +2.....so you'll definitely wanna bring that down a bit.. I haven't posted any of my results. but I may try a different set up later.

Thanks for asking!
