In Flight

Today I learned something new. Focusing on butterflies as they take off is not easy and requires a great amount of patience.

I learned something else a while ago. There is no such thing as too many butterfly shots in your Flickr stream.

I know I recently had a shot dedicated to ZooGal's processing techniques. This one is dedicated to her ability to find balance.

To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player.

I took about 50 shots of butterflies the other day and none turned out. Catching them is so hard. I love this capture in flight.

Incredible! The detail on the butterfly and the softness of the background are a great contrast to each other, and all the colors are beautifully complementary. It looks like the butterfly's flying across an Impressionist painting!

I second all the above comments. There is such clarity in the butterfly, even though it is flying, then overlaid onto that exquisite bokeh makes this a truly special shot! I'm glad you persisted in your efforts, it certainly paid off!! Did you use some kind of action on this (for processing) I love it!!
