summer glau
the beautiful and talented summer glau was the highlight of the january los angeles comic book & science fiction convention that was held at the shrine auditorium. she was making an appearance to promote her new tv show, terminator: the sarah conner chronicles where she plays a terminator sent back by future john connor to protect sarah and john in the past.
i have been to other conventions before and usually its the actors who get all the questions while the producer is the one who almost gets overlooked, however today most people were really curious about the show and so the majority of the questions were directed towards the producer. she did of course answer some questions, i think the longest one involved something about her dancing and ballet.
in terms of seeing actors & actresses promote their movies/tv shows at conventions, this is a very nice change compared to the very huge comic-con. here, it's so much smaller that pretty much everyone who wants a photo or autograph can get one. i'd say that about 170 people or more got autograph pics and because of how the stage was set up, everyone had the chance to take a good photograph of the actors regardless of whether they were using a camera phone or a professional dslr.
edited to add: just caught the premiere episode of the sarah conner chronicles and it's pretty amazing so far. summer is awesome as a terminator...

yep, according to her filmography she played tess doerner. i've only seen the pilot for 4400, but haven't continued watching since then. i'm a fan of summer from the firefly tv show and the follow up movie, serenity.

She is lovely, isn't she? I really enjoyed her in Firefly and, I agree... I caught part of an episode of the new Terminator series, and she was quite good in the bit I saw.
She just needs to smile more! She's got a lovely smile!

This is a really nice portrait capturing a genuine moment, regardless of the subject. Great light and focus. Nicely done, but it deserves to be viewed larger.
