It seems that as we age, the loss of cherished persons has a deeper and deeper impact on us. Is it simply because we've walked with them longer on the road of life, and their companionship has marked us more, or is it because as we mature, we gain a better understanding of the thoughts, values and beliefs that these persons tried to communicate to us?
All too often, it's only after these persons departed that we wonder why we didn't make more of the time we spent together. Looking at the artifacts they left, however, reminds us that these persons will live, at least in our hearts, forever.
