Took the day off work for my birthday and escorted my son’s 1st grade class to the LA Zoo. Talk about kids in their natural habitat! This guy… don’t remember just what he is, but he had a big mustache and a bad attitude, which is perfect for animal photography. And I’m really not big on the photography of animals, because honestly… everyone has seen a cute cat or a spunky puppy. But it’s catching an animal in a unique moment or look which sets them apart. Who knows, 6 years from now I could be out in the wild photographing animals for money. Na…. I’ll stick to brides.
Speaking of brides, at the wedding last night, I can't tell you how many people turn their heads when they see I'm going to take a candid photo of them. They're on the dance floor or dinner table and I use my long lens to capture them candidly, and they notice I'm there, and instantly turn away so I can't see them. Seriously?? And this happens at EVERY wedding. People think I'm stealing their soul or are going to exploit them on de internetz. I'm just there documenting the people who came to the wedding for the bride & groom. I'm not going to sell unflattering photos of you to TMZ (or could I?)
Rest of the photos from the trip are posted here in the usual spot
