Lew Funk in B-18 that Crashed at Buckly Bombing Range

This Douglas B-18 crash landed at Buckly Bombing Range in Colorado c. 1939

This crash landing occurred when Dad was an MP before he entered photographic school in 1940. The crash must not have been too bad if the ship didn't get scrapped until August 1945.

Douglas B-18A Bolo bomber (s/n 39-20)

Scrapped at Lowry Field, Colorado on August 3,1945

The repair teams could perform miracles. It is also possible the airframe didn't get written off until 1945 but had sat around wrecked.
