Triangle "H" = 306th Bomb Group, based at Thurleigh. The closest ship, B-17G serial 42-102963, went to the 452nd BG on 23 May 1944;

she was destroyed on the ground by Luftwaffe bombers at Poltava following the first 8th AF shuttle raid, the night of 21 June. The

452nd had sixteen Fortresses destroyed in the attack, and another four damaged.
