I think Moraine Lake is a lot better place to rent a canoe than Lake Louise. It's insanely beautiful with the sparkling turquoise water from glacial runoff and less crowded. Finely ground silt particles made by glaciers give the water this amazing color, which constantly changes with the time of day and as the clouds come and go. Of course, the ten peaks around the lake don't hurt a bit. You can put your money on it, or as the Canadians did, put it on your money.

Wow! This is breathtaking! I can't wait to be there next week! Any suggestions? I'll be in Banff for a few days then Lake Louise.

Really, you can't miss in the Canadian Rockies. Anywhere you go along the Icefield Parkway will be magnificent.

John:
Thanks for your comment on my winter shot of this wonderful place.
I'll always be indebted to you for introducing me to it via this beautiful picture. After all, I can't tell you how often I went to Lake Louise, without ever knowing that this was "just down the (side) road".
All the best to you and yours, especially in the imminent festive season.
Regards, Hans
