Day 68_Sunset at PHL
November 20, 2009 (Day 68)
A tiring, but productive trip to the UK and the Netherlands ended with me running to catch my last flight from Philadelphia to State College. When I got to the gate, I had just enough time to snap this photo of the sunset in the background. In case you were wondering, these size planes do not travel to State College...this was not my flight.

Day 67_GPS Spider in London
November 19, 2009 (Day 67)
The past two days have been spent traveling, meeting new people, and giving talks to the Regional Greenkeepers in BIGGA. Although I didn't get to take many photos during this period, I did find it interesting to watch the GPS unit as it got us back to London and Heathrow airport. You can't really see it from the road, but obviously an aerial view of the roadways would be something worth taking a picture of. In this image, the roads all converge in one spot that I thought made the look of a spider.

Day 65_Oliebollerie
November 17, 2009 (Day 65)
Passing through the Amsterdam airport on several occasions during this trip, I was introduced to the Oliebollerie. This stand of pastries and other sweets sits outside of the airport in Amsterdam. On this evening, we missed the warm Dutch donuts by only minutes. If you have a chance to hit one of these stands up, make sure that you gets lots of powdered sugar and stand upwind (unless you want to be covered in white).

Day 66_Blue Light District
November 18, 2009 (Day 66)
Although I am not aware of any Blue Light District in Amsterdam, I thought that I would invent one here to mimic the infamous Red Light District. This image was taken at the Novotel Hotel in the morning on the last day of our stay in the Netherlands. The blue light was interesting (although better when seen from afar). From here, we hopped on a small flight to the UK for another round of talks.

Day 64_Bike Light
November 16, 2009 (Day 64)
Today we left Amsterdam and traveled to see a couple of golf courses in the region. One thing that everyone probably knows about Holland is the prevalence of bikes on the road. Since it is so flat, there are tons of bicyclists throughout the country. On our trip to the first course (Kennemer Golf and Country Club), I took this shot of a bike stop light. While the cyclists have rules to follow, we observed that it was the motorists that had to be cautious when driving as the bikes rarely stopped for anyone.
