The Nation`s "Village Hall"

Situated in Kensington ,London ,opposite the Albert Memorial ,in Kensington gardens.
The Royal Albert Hall was opened by Queen Victoria in 1871,as a memorial to her late husband/consort ,Prince Albert. She was ,in fact,so overcome that she was unable to speak & her son,Prince Edward had to announce "The Queen declares this hall is now open".
Built originally to accommodate 8,000 people ,it is now limited to 5,500 for safety reasons.Used mainly as a concert hall,particuarly `The Proms`; it has also been used for anything from boxing & tennis to conferences & miss World finals ! The elliptical building has a glass domed roof & houses the second largest organ in Britain with 9,999 pipes .

No Privacy .

I was in the `Gents` at Mirador del Rio,Lanzarote,when I had the feeling that I was not alone ! Then I spotted this smart little Gecko on the door frame .Well ,I didn`t bother him & he certainly didn`t bother me.

Black Lemur (Eulemur macaco)....male.
The males have black or dark brown fur while the female is much paler .They are mainly fruit eaters ; weighing around 2 Kg, when mature. They are gregarious , polygamous & travel through the treetops in noisy groups of 12 to 15 eating ,sleeping & vocalising together. Conservation status is Vulnerable.This photo was taken in a Nature reserve near Antananarivo,Madagascar.

In the Pink !

I met this modest young lady near to Teguise,Lanzarote . Obviously she had not been sun-bathing recently. But I think she was worried that the wind might spoil her coiffure !
