For the curious: this was shot at 1/500s and f/11 with a bounce flash. The camera was on a tripod. I dropped the dice onto white tile (you can just see a reflection underneath the white die) and tripped the shutter with a remote. It took about fifty tries to get this combination. In post-production, I bumped the contrast and cloned out what was left of the grout lines. The dice are from a Star Wars monopoly game. I guess the Force was with me. :-)

patience lies in the family, when I'm on a
bender trying to get a perfect shot the
missus just stands at the corner of the room
