patientdata by john-norris.
Continuing the proof of concept, here I am at the records counter at the Ann Myers Medical Center and logged into an Electronic Medical Records / Clinical Information System from within the SL client. This time I've brought up a patient's record. I could see how this would further enhance medical simulation and training.

Basically, hijacked the SL client's help window and logged into an Open Source medical software demo (ClearHealth.)

I liked this screenshot so much I used it to illustrate a BNET blog post on electronic medical records. I credited you and linked back here.

Wow...thanks.

The new SL viewer has a built in web browser, so one doesn't need to do quite the fiddling I did. However, the concept still stands.

Nice article. It is too bad that there are still arguments whether EMR's a good thing or not. It is good to proceed with caution, and properly address who benefits and who does not. However, the upside is so huge we shouldn't disagree that EMR is fundamentally a good thing.
