One of the guys to come out to the Dublens exhibition was Ken Moore aka Dulaman ... I knew his work well and he had been a contact for quite some time. Tonight Ken and myself popped down to White Rock Beach where we talked workflow, lenses, filters and local spots. Really top bloke. I was also fortunate enough to borrow his B+W 110 and took this shot using the Sigma 10-20mm on the D3x in bulb mode. I think it might have to get one of those filters! Thought I would try a different processing method on this one ... it's the last one from this series of Bulloch Harbour. I've gone for a desaturated sky and a strong contrast to focus on the green moss along the jetty. Just recently I'm finding that my Cokin ND grads are casting too much pink and purple colour hue to my skies. I'm all for colour but when it looks like a nuclear explosion on the horizon I'm not impressed. Does anyone else have this issue with their ND grads? How do you correct it?

Where Seals Play, Dalkey, Dublin, Ireland

Happened upon a wandering kiwi about a month ago, turns out he was a photographer and a pleasant chap in general. We talked crap about cameras and technology and decided I would show him around the coastline. Aidan being the purveyor of chocolate fuelled us in our quest for the magic edge. Armed with a Nikon D3X and a Cadbury's Twirl we sat and waited while seals taunted us by popping in and out of the shot ... eventually got the shot I was looking for.
