History Lessons

Taken inside the abandoned St. Agnes Catholic School Big thanks to Rob for throwing books with me, and to Ali for laughing at me as I freaked out over the scary clown music coming from the ice cream truck circling he neighborhood.

This was my first time time (aside from the factory in Indiana) exploring an abandoned building and it was such a powerful experience for me to see a building that was once so beautiful, now decaying and falling apart, especially as I work in a school. We explored the safer rooms of the school, venturing down to the basement and we had planned to get into the neighboring church but all the enterances were sealed and we didn't want to create 'a situation'.

you can watch a video of me being freaked out by the creepy ice cream truck music while Rob takes photos here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju1lil5gvWs&feature=youtu.be

I really love this. The concept is very well executed, and the tones are perfect.
I work in a school as well! I can't imagine my work being like this, ever! Its crazy how things once full of life and promise can become so empty and forgotten. Beautiful.

This is incredible. It's definitely one of my favorites from you. Your expression is perfect and I love how there's no other people. I also love the detail of the open drawers with books spilling out of them. And the textures are beautiful. <3

awesome photo!...awesome location! love the flying books. When shooting at these "haunted" locations, remember one thing, ghosts were once people like you and don't want to hurt you, just curious, prob as much as living people are.
