We Are All Wild Things Now
Maurice Sendak was and is one of my favourite authors and illustrators and I was so sad to hear that he had passed away today. Growing up, I always wanted to be an animator or illustrator like Walt Disney or Mr.Sendak and I looked to talents like his to inspire me.
Right away I knew that I was going to try and do a "wild things" type shot to honor his amazing talent and when I ran through this field earlier tonight, the sun was so nice that I ran even faster just to get home and come back to shoot :)

This is absolutely lovely. I read Where the Wild Things Are to my bunch of kindergarten kids and they absolutely adored it, which reminded me a lot of how much I had enjoyed it too as a kid. Sad to hear about his passing, but this is beautiful. The wide open space, the pose, the wild thing and even the greeny-yellows of this is so reminiscent of his style - you've done a wonderful job honoring his memory. :)
