My Great Grandfather

My Great Grandfather by Joe Hastings.
Project 365 #161 09/06/07

It turns out that my great-grandfather, James Hastings, was a member of the Cork Volunteer Pipe Band when this photograph was taken in 1914. In 1919 the Irish Volunteers (Óglaigh na hÉireann) went on to become the Irish Republican Army where he rose to somewhat of a high rank.

So there you go. My great-grandad was in the IRA.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Old IRA, and we'd love to have your photo added to the group.
