That's a lot of plums!![]() The funny thing is tat for the past 6+ years we've lived here, these plums have been yellow, and not particularly sweet. This year, it seems they have been cross-pollinated with the tree of the neighbors behind us. These are sweet and addictive eaten straight off the tree, but also make a yummy jam. I got 12 jars (and one extra for the fridge) out of these.
***Anyone also from the SF Bay area know where to go strawberry, raspberry or blackberry picking?? *** Commentsfifthlampdown

ooh, these are so beautiful! I had a friend when I lived in England who used to slow simmer halved plums and serve them over toasted brioche with cream. so, so yummy! Looks like you got lucky with that cross pollination ;)
I had a secret blackberry picking spot in Golden Gate park near 9th and Fulton. I am clueless where to pick in my area now, any insights?
