A common rooster. For quite a long time, I've wanted to get a shot like this. This rooster was pretty shy, trying to move away from my lens. This particular photo was shot through a fence and the wires on the fence don't show up due to the DoF.
No crop, image is as it is - out of the camera. I had to rest my lens hood on the fence - ended up with a few scratches on the hood, but the shot was worth it. :-)
Shot near Manchinbele, at a Sunflower farm on the way back to Bangalore.
I am taking a break for a few days. :-)

i have a special corner for people who go insane for a single shot, work on it for days, wait for the moment and finally get it. the best part is that they have this obstinate attraction for something very mundane, very ordinary and yet, when they execute it - it's like an effort and patience well worth it.
i personally think this is a lovely shot in all its technical attributes. in fact, the only thing you could have possibly 'experimented' with is the angle and i'd say you made a decent frame out of it. i come from a place where we see roosters and chickens being sold in the streets! you come from India - so this is no surprise for you.

-diya- : Thank you for your comment - This was the only shot I could get - The rooster trotted off quickly. Yes, I'll have to find one more to and try getting a better shot. :-)

I hate shooting animals, especailly small ones. They run around before I can focus and work on their details. So I understand that this is a difficult to execute.... so good job.
The details are absolutely beautiful. I love the colours and bokeh. I only have minor complaint. The eye of the rooster might be too centered.

Nice rooster. Great colors. Very sharp. Great use of dof. Would have been better -more powerful - if the rooster had looked straight at the camera in a tycpical tilted way?

Traditional set of complementary pairs at work it seems! with a deep orange. I think compositon may be better, then I think how a rooster ( like this one) moves and is a very hard job to accomplish. Go out there and re-try for perfection and your fans!

Wow, excellent capture! I admire your patience and tenacity!
The colours are gorgeous, as is the bokeh.
There really isn't much more to say about it, other than a job very well done!

The colours and textures in this are so good, really crisp as well. I think I would have liked a little more background above and to the left, but I still think its great as is.

I really like these feathers! Please consider adding your photo to the GlobalBirdTrekkers pool.
