Immature Red-headed Woodpecker (Melanerpes erythrocephalus)
A really noisy shot taken under the worst conditions, bird was high in a far tree against a white sky. It was wonderful to see this guy, the one we had gone out to see. Yay!
3 folks were on site when we arrived, they spotted him first and let us get a good look at him through their scope. Thanks so much folks for being so generous.

This Red-Tail made it easy to get this shot. It came right towards us in a straight line.

Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) in flight.
We left the Hockanum River Linear Trail a little down-hearted. We had gone to see if we could spot the Red Headed Woodpecker that's been hanging around there. We were unsuccessful. As we were driving through an East Hartford neighborhood on our way back to I84, we looked up and saw this. A very nice consolation prize.

14
