So, I found a huge box of lead type at the Alameda swap meet, just outside of San Francisco one weekend, and I bought some key letters.

The caption for this photo has an origin story that Ali told me; a girl in art school who, in an attempt to clean some lead type she found, BAKED THE LETTERS IN THE OVEN. Given the low melting point of lead melts, the merits of this approach remain questionable (at best), but highly memorable.
