Craving Clams

So thinking we'd get something lighter, we ordered simpler fare. These were the first to hit our table.

 

BOY HOWDY WERE THEY GOOD. Though it says steamed on the menu, it seemed like there was some kind of really high-heat going on, as the shells were browned. The caramelization of the sauce in place was phenomenal. Spicy and sweet, the sauce was soaked up to the last drop with bread offered after seeing us devour this thing. The pork is crispy and reminiscent of the chinese style pork. I think they used the thick sweet soy sauce. Didn't care so much about the pork as an edible item.
