As lots of people have pointed out, these actually kind of suck if you decide to actually use one. Unless you have your massive music collection on a laptop (instead of at home on a desktop), you can't really even use a new, uncharged and empty iPod you just paid $300 for on your next flight. It's an expensive brick until you get home.

These are made by a local (SF) company called "Zoom Systems". I read a recent article that they hope to have over 10,000 of these machines installed in malls, campuses, etc. by 2010.

They have a couple at the SFO Airport and other locations around SF. Most of the time, you see it with iPods and other related gear. Interesting that they are now co-branding them with vendors like Motorola.
