i've written six-word stories for years now, hundreds of them, mostly as titles to go with photographs i'd already taken.
i recently found out about six-word memoirs after meeting larry smith, founder of smith magazine.
it got me thinking, wondering what mine would be. i spent time on it, playing with the words and the cadence and the punctuation and the meaning. this is where it led me, to a place where it felt right -- on paper. and on skin.

If I liked pain enough to get some "permanent ink", this would be my all-time favorite! ;-)
