Anders Pettersson's funeral, 1928
Åke Svensson describes the photo:
Anders Pettersson died on the 19th of May 1928 at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 17 days. The picture is taken in Galtås where everyone is gathered around the coffin. In procession they travel to the church in Åker and the cemetery where the funeral shall take place. On the picture Anders' wife Matilda is dressed in a big scarf. His son Johan (Gust's brother) is standing in a white shirt, bow and high hat on his head. Johan's wife Ellen is wearing a hat.
Their three children Annie (8 years old), Gustav (11 years) and Nelly (12 years) are standing next to each other. We don´t know the other people in the picture. Gustavs grandmother Matilda died on the 19th of July 1933 and his father on the 29th of June 1934. Gustav inherited the farm at the age of 16. Gustav's mother Ellen lived on the farm until her death in spring 1974.
Gustav married Hildur from Dannäs in 1942. They had five daughters that grew up on the farm. Gustav owned the farm until his death on the 12th of May 1993. He held his promise to his father.
