Shot Info: Cannon 400d, 55mm, ISO 400, 1/500th sec @ f5.6.
Processing : Not much here, just some cropping and contrast, also added some local midtone contrast. Finished with some sharpening.
Took April to the St. Louis zoo a few weeks ago and got some very nice butterfly shots. Not my best work, but I posted this because the guy at the zoo said these butterfly's very rarely leave there wings open like this.

What are you looking at?
Rented some glass for an upcoming wedding that I'm photographing and I decided to test it out on my kitty. The lens is Canon's 50mm f1.4 and it is a pretty sweet lens. I actually may pick this one up for myself! Anyway, the techie stuff. . .
Shot Info: Cannon 400d, 50mm, 400 ISO, 1/200th sec @ f1.4, Speedlite 430EX with Omni-Bounce directed towards ceiling for fill light.
Processing : Edited in Lightroom with simple WB changes, some contrast added, and slight tone curve adjustment. Also added some slight sharpening in Lightroom. . . only slight because this lens is just that awesome!
One of these days I will find the time to get out and actually photograph some more landscapes. Been super busy here lately and have had a hard time even finding the time to get on the internet. Will be around some time this weekend to catchup with everyone's streams!

Crazy cat in the Christmas tree
For some reason our kitty seems to think the Christmas tree is there for him to play with.

Shot Info: Cannon 400d, 55mm, 200 ISO, 1/125th sec @ f5.6.
Processing : Edited in Lightroom to bring out the top thingy a little more. End result was some blown highlights, so I used the recovery slider a little bit. Boosted saturation to the greens and purple/magentas slightly. In photoshop I added a levels and curves layer to try and improve things a little bit more. Added a usm with high amount and low radius for general sharpening and a usm with low amount and high radius for local contrast boost.
This image was taken in my backyard in Jefferson City MO. It's actually a vine that we planted along our chain link fence. . . and it's growing nicely so far. Im not too sure what that thing on top is, but I thought it looked cool so I took a few shots of it and this, I think, is the best one. Hopefully the blown highlights on the flowers aren't too distracting.
This has been a tough year for me photography wise. I have been struggling to come up with creative ideas. Hopefully next year I can hit it hard again. Sorry for neglecting all of my flickr friends, I will be back to catchup soon.
