I was running errands yesterday morning and saw the tree being put up in Portland's living room.

Oh, so jealous! Of the rain, the colors, the tree! I can't wait - right after we get home from visiting family for Thanksgiving, I have already forewarned my partner, the_dean, that I'm pulling out the Christmas stuff and decorating. Christmas is big in my family and I intend to soak up as much of it as I can, especially since I will be spending the holidays away from my family for the first time in my life (they're all on the East Coast).

My mom thinks they're putting the big tree up today. She's planning to walk down to see it today. Well, it's gorgeous out so she'll get to enjoy the walk anyway. She lives up on Kearney near 23 rd.

It does seem early to me too. No Christmas decorations should appear until the day after Thanksgiving.
