Oh Are Eee Ohe by Jim U

Oh Are Eee Ohe

So after reading strobist.blogspot.com/2007/04/on-assignment-munchies.html I wanted to do that shot, specifically www.flickr.com/photos/31454864@N00/457249942/. So I went to Walmart to get a box of Oreos. But uninspired, I just started eating the box of cookies, until I saw this shot, www.flickr.com/photos/daffodilious/317243532/, what an inspiration. Shameless repro though. Now I want to do the original shot again.

Strobist Info:
Sony α900: manual exposure, 1/50sec, ISO-160, tripod'd

Taco Thursday by Jim U

Taco Thursday

I've concluded that the difference between fast food & other restaurants is presentation. U'd figure that tacos might look nice, but they're all flat and almost empty. Maybe i needed to keep'em together with a paper clip or something or maybe i need a stylist.

In the mean time, i think i'm gonna quit shooting my dinner. it kinda gets cold by the time i'm done. plus it keeps on falling over and making my table all greasy. or atleast buy some sorta appetizer to hold me over.

Next time, KFC with a 50 M.

Big Mac Combo Strobist by Jim U

Big Mac Combo Strobist

This Big Mac came from Grange Village, which is about just 300m away. Big Mac's never seem to come out straight and this one even had a dent right in the middle of the bun. To top it off the beef seems pretty pathetic compared to advertisements. In all honesty, it's a really lousy looking burger.

Here's my new brick wall. Transplanted from the 116 Simcoe Street with the 50 M, who's days are numbered. This was done with the 200G, at maximum magnification (1:6.25 or 0.16x @ 1500mm) which I don't know if it's quite enough or too much, but with the Kenko 70mm extension tube set could be (1:1.96 or 0.51x @ 894mm), which would be more than enough. Maybe tomorrow, I'll try the 85G on taco bell or KFC.
