This photo's generated quite a bit more activity than usual so I thought it would be worthwhile explaining how it was done. It's not that difficult if you have a digicam with some sort of manual focus. First get yourself a cat, and a small pocket torch (one of those that takes 2 AA batteries...)

It was 1am in the morning in the office, with the curtains closed. Pim had climbed onto the chair and I decided to photograph her. Luckily for me she was a bit less active than usual for that time of night. I put the camera (Sony F717) on a tripod in its lowest position, measured the distance and locked the focus. I set the shutter speed for 0.1s (there were a few experiments) and set the timer.

During the countdown I passed the flashlight over her face in the direction I wanted, moving it so that there would be enough movement in 0.1s for the "circular halo effect" you get from pocket torches not to appear. And of course there was quite a bit of luck when the shutter finally went off.

Esta foto gerou mais interesse do que o normal para minhas fotos. Portanto pensei que seria interessante, para quem gastou seu tempo comentando aqui, explicar como foi feito. Se tiver uma câmera com algum tipo de foco manual não é difícil (mesmo com foco automático é possível mas mais chato...)

Bem, primeira adquira um gato (ou gata) e uma lanterninha de bolsa (daquelas bem vagabundas, que funcionam com 2 pilhas AA).

Uma hora de madrugada no escitório, cortinas fechadas. Pim tinha subido na cadeira e resolvi fotografá-la. Felizmente ela não estava muito ativa nessa noite. Coloquei a máquina no tripé, acertei a distância com o foco manual, coloquei o obturador em 0.1s (fiz várias experiências) e apertei o timer.

Enquanto esperava a câmera disparar, iluminei o rosto dela com a lanterninha de bolso sempre mexendo o feixe de luz para que não saisse aqueles círculos redondos da lâmpada. E tive uma baita dose de sorte, claro, quando a máquina finalmente disparou.
