ST. KILDA, SCOTLAND, UK -- St. Kilda is a small group of islands some 40 miles west of the Outer Hebrides off the northwest coast of Scotland. It is famous for its bird colonies and the story of the evacuation of the people of St. Kilda in 1930, after thousands of years of human occupation.

Great angle on the bay - I have just been and although the colours do look a bit intense in this shot it is actually very muted compared to most of this photographers other shots and its actually not that different from the reality. The land IS that colour and the village area really is that intensely green colour - its no different to my raw shots. The big difference I had is the sky and sea - not nearly such deep blues in the images I got. I think this angle is perfect though - it captures the huge sweeping space of that area and is still close enough the village for you to be able to pick out detail. One question I do have though is - what boat is that in the bay? I didn't know such big boats went there. (My girlfriend would like to see St Kilda but could never do the journey in the smaller boat I went on so that might be the answer.)

I'm really enjoying looking at your photographs, especially the landscapes. If you have the time, could you have a look at my gallery and tell me how I could improve my shots. Please don't worry about criticizing, I can handle it! Thanks so much, David Bryant.
