Looks like I may not have time this spring to go serious wildflower hunting, so this is an image taken last year during a guided hike through the Tejon Ranch near Lancaster, California. I used my fisheye lens and got really close to the ground to compose the tallest lupine against the sky for added depth. The orange poppies certainly made for a wonderful contrast.
Teaching tomorrow for a private group from Apple and the weather should cooperate nicely and I'm looking forward to a day along the coast helping others.

All this image needed was a slight white balance shift from 5000K to 4350K, a small contrast and vibrance boost and a little burning to tone down the brightness on the poppies. Sharpened and sized for web.
