Press 'L' to see it big
Happy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate this holiday of love. Without my girlfriend, Kendra, none of my photography would be possible. I'd probably be lying in a gutter somewhere. Actually, I'd be a beach bum. :) I do love the beach, just not as much as my girl.
That being said, I did sneak away to my mistress, the coast, yesterday. Cripps and I are scouting locations for our upcoming 2-day seascape workshop and we want to expand the list of locations we can go take students to. San Gregorio State Beach got an A+ for awesomeness my first time there and as the storm clouds approached, San Gregorio is where we wound up.
But like my first time here, the light was prime well before sunset with tons of golden lovin'. Occasionally, big sets of waves would come in and go sideways on the beach, spilling over into the creek. As driftwood slammed into my legs, both personal and tripod, I watched my camera vibrate. I fired away anyway and was quite surprised that a couple images were still sharp.
I've got a busy week ahead and will be teaching in Big Sur this Saturday. Wish me luck!
