Part of the The Schneiderhahn Project
This was an interesting lighting challenge. This piece is covered in glass which meant that reflections were going to be a problem. The home where we were was full of windows, so we used the darkened powder room. Jerome stood against the wall and held the art while I took the picture, and Kate held a SB600 bounced off the ceiling (camera right) triggered by CLS at 1/4 power. Even so, there was a weird shadow which we had to get rid of. So I asked Jerome to hold it at an angle and I cleaned up the perspective in Paintshoppro.
I got an email from Tom Schneiderhahn a while back about some of Max's stuff that he and his sister had. We went down last weekend to photograph it.
