Taliesin Landscape - Take 2
This image is a 'redeveloped' version of one I posted a few days ago. That version is available here
When I took the shot, I was really taken with the lines created in the fields. I took the shot while on a tour of Taliesin and I didn't have much choice about time or weather. While I liked the original image, I thought it was somewhat lacking. I generally don't like adding things to images that weren't there originally, I was curious to see what I could come up with by adding a little interest to the sky. A couple of days ago, I went out to a nearby farm area around the same time of day as this image was taken, and I took a shot of the sky. We had some nice puffy clouds and blue sky and I thought this sky might add to the shot. I came home and reworked the original image and blended in the sky. I also gave the image a stronger sepia tone which I really like. I'm still uncomfortable with the whole notion of compositing, but it was fun to see what I could do. I do think this image is better than the original.
For those interested, I have a new blog that I'm working on where I describe in more detail the work that went into making a particular image. I've added an entry about this shot in the near future. Feel free to visit and leave comments at imagenotebook.blogspot.com.
