This was Taken in early fall in the town of Kuldiga. The leaves were just starting to change, so we are missing a lot of those buitiful oranges and reds.

This photo serves as a good example that zoom lenses can be usefull tool for the landscape artist. It's not just about those ultra-wides. I used my newest lens, the 70-200 f2.8 VR ii.

This is a strong spring day in Dzelda, Latvia. Winter wasn't lost on this scene as there are remnants of ice in the river.

I seem to be responding more and more to interesting trees. At this moment, the wind had died down a bit and was softly swaying the trees in back. A slightly slower middle exposure in the HDR sequence captured this nicely.

This is a shot of the Baltic Coast of Latvia. Most of the editing was done to the sand area of the photo to enhance the constrast (highlights) and to bring out the texture ande color (Topaz Adjust).

The coast of Latvia is full of WWII remnants. A cold, desaturated HDR look seemed to fit the subject matter.

Christmas Road

Christmas Road

Merry Christmas from me and my other Jewish friends.

This image was taken on the road back from Skoda, Lithuania to Skrunda, Latvia. It is mid-day, and the strength of the sun forced me to pull way back on the contrast in post processing. NEVER be afraid to reduce detail-hiding contrast!

This is another Split-tone processed image. Again, the colors weren't awe- inspiring, but I enjoyed the subtle mix of warm and cool tones. I enhanced the warm-tone / cool-tone contrast by selecting a cool blue for the highlights and a warm tan for the shadows.
