Wasaga Beach (4)

Wasaga Beach (4)

Wasaga Beach, where my father's family has owned a cottages for about 80 years (not the one pictured). Here, in September the beach is less crowded and more appealing for those who would rather have a little space.

Wasaga Beach (3)

Although it's September here, there are still some sections of the beach (close to the "main drag" area) where people congregate in little crowds, while other sections remain almost empty.

Wasaga Beach 2

Wasaga Beach 2

Blue sky, peaceful water and an expanse of nearly empty sand at Wasaga Beach. A scene you will seldom see during the "high summer" months. Getting a little patch of sand on the beach in June or July is not an easy task.

Black River - Solitary Wilderness 1

Black River - Solitary Wilderness 1

Up north at the very end of the trail off Cooper's Falls Road is an area we know as Victorial Falls, although there really is no nearby waterfall. The Black River runs through this wilderness park, and in some places over many of the boulders and rocks on the riverbed creating rapids - in some areas fairly quick rapids, in others the rapids are lazy and gentle. Almost any time we've taken the long and arduous trip up to this area, we've found it all but deserted. On one occasion we've seen a couple of other cars, but no people, on another, two other people, but most often we see no one. It has a lonely and wild feeling, with much of the area untouched. If you love the outdoors and nature, this area is so worth the trip...once we get there, I seldom want to leave.

Another treatment of the same view as the first - using a more rustic brown tone and leaving some of the colour in place.
